I've recently acquired a gas pump and was trying to find some information about it. I believe the pump is about 1912/1913 vintage. It has a brass tag that says "Manufactured by The Bakersfield Iron Works". It also has the letters A. O. Co. cast into the base. Any ideas?
Thanks

Jim... here are links to 3 pictures of the pump. One of the pictures is of the brass tag. I looked in Jack Sim's book (Great Book!) but it wasn't listed. The "A. O. Co." is cast into the base were the barrel rests on.
Thanks

I'm sure it's a gas pump and not a sump pump. I took a fitting off and you could smell old gas. And the barrel can be locked also. She is ugly but I sure love these early pumps!

d.e.
I've seen quite a few Bakersfield pumps, but this is the 1st that has a complete barrel. I have seen them with a lower cover.
Sorry I don't have more information.
