Hey guys, a friend of mine brought me a pair of Texaco pump plates with the add-ons. It looks like thay have faded, or are they supposed to be that way? Both are the same. Any ideas? Also, there is an emblem that has S-W on it. The guy he got this from says the emblem was on the pump. Anyone know about that? Brent IP: Logged |

THE BOTTOM OF THAT TEXACO SIGN LOOKS LIKE AN ADD-ON. SOMETHING THAT WAS SCREWED ONTO THE BOTTOM OF AN EXISTING PUMP PLATE TO UPDATE INSTEAD OF REPLACING THE WHOLE SIGN WITH A NEWER ONE. IN THIS CASE THE ADD-ON WAS A SCREENED RED ON WHITE SHEET METAL PIECE ADDED TO THE BOTTOM REAR OF THE PORC SIGN. THAT'S WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE TO ME. IS THERE A LIP WHERE THE 2 MEET? THE OTHER EMBLEM IS INDEED FROM THE SOUTHWEST GAS PUMP MFG CO. ~DOC IP: Logged |

Doc, yes it is screwed on to the bottom of the plate. I saw the sign in my pump restoration book, that is why I was wondering why this sign looks the way it does. It's not painted, or the paint has faded off. Brent IP: Logged |
