Hi Chaps very new here. Took delivery of my first pump the other day and want to crack on with some sort of restoration. The panles to the pump appear to come of nice and easy as does the top. I'm going to have them re-sparayed just as soon as I can find out the correct coolour codes. The pump like myself is English and is set out as "Shell". Did shell use the same colour codes the world over or were they different country by country?? (Hope that makes sense) Also I don't intend digging for oil so is there any point in keeping the innards, motor etc. What do you guys reckon will it de-value any future re-sale. I know its hard because the UK market is different to the US but does it affect the valsue in the US?? Cheers Dave IP: Logged |

First let me say Welcome to the greatest petro site on the net!!!!! Keep the computer (part with the numbers for price & liters sold).Dump the pump and motor. It does not effect value and also makes the pump much lighter and easier to handle.Post some pics of the pump for us or email to me & I'll post um for you. As for colors I'm not sure if they were the same world wide or not but I bet someone here will have an answer for you. There are some very bright & talented folks lurking about on this sight.
