Bob, Are you buying dinner sat. night after the auction? I figure since your driving the bank vault truck to the auction you could at least take us out for dinner. Is there room in the bank truck to haul globes? IP: Logged |

Sorry John, its your turn to buy dinner. Don't worry, there will only be about 300 people there. Dinner shouldn't cost you more than $6000. ![]() IP: Logged |

Hey Rex & Nita, Sorry Dave and I won't be able to make your auction, conflict of dates. Just remember some will go good, others will be soft, but from a former auctioneer, it is the bottom line. GOOD LUCK, we will be thinking of you. Going to try and get online. You are a GREAT couple. Thanks for all the good times. We love ya, Dave and Linda IP: Logged |

rex- I know other collectors who have sold of the bulk of there collection but have held back some pieces that are near and dear, are you? Will you still be involved in the hobby and collect again or is this a goodbye? You have always posted some good information and hope that you will continue the hunt. ------------------ IP: Logged |

Hi Scott. Thanks for the positive comments. I will never be off of old gas until/or if they suspend me. As far as auctioning off the stuff, everything is going. I have a lot of odds and ends and a few globes that I will be selling at the gas and oil shows. It would have been just too many items to put in the auction. When I first thought about selling my stuff, I started with just car dealer signs and then thought that I would sell everything but the Mobil and KYSO becuase they were my favorites. But as time went by and things changed, I decided that it would be best to sell it all. The hunt is never over for me. It is just my time to sell my collection. ........ Here are some pictures of the process of moving and the first day set up at the Kentucky Speedway. The Gargoyle Mobil Oil cabinet and the visable pumps were wrapped in blankets and cardboard and then shrink wrapped. IP: Logged |

Tahoe to the rescue, I had to pull the Aumann truck and trailer up the hill from the barn several times: Before the big races and special events, these mini race cars race. They are in a room next to the auction rooms. ...... REX LIKES LITTLE CARS IP: Logged |

The set up today at Kentucky Speedway went great. Take a look at all of the pictures. Before I got there, J. Mayfield and Jerret, the UPS driver were testing cars on the track. They came by and looked at the stuff and said that they would be in Las Vegas racing, but that they would be bidding on line. Sorry that I missed them. Pictures: .........NEED A GLOBE??????
