We called for details and the scedual is like this. Friday is the auction, Sat. is from noon-5:00 and cost $50!!!! Sun. 6:30-8:00 cost $20 and 8:00-2:00 cost $5. But you know these venders are going to be packed up by noon.
It doesn't seem like a very good show to me. If you go for one day, you are only going to get a half a day for your money. I have been looking forward to going to this show. But, I'm not sure it is worth my time to drive for a few hours. Why don't they have a day that is from say 8-5 so we can take our time and look around and visit!!! I think it needs better organization.

Peotone is one of the best organized shows, they only let venders pack up early (which is usually only a half hour early if that) if the public foot traffic has come to a halt. Venders all have to go out one gate which they open at end of show and watch during the show. It's always a great show to go to!!!

Hi allsho80,
Peotone is really a good show, well worth the trip. There is enough time for most buyers to look at all the vendors, visit with a few and make a second pass through to see what you missed the first time. I always see something I missed when I go through again.

There will be vendors itching to pack up when the buyer traffic lets up at any show. There's no way short of gunfire to keep the vendors until 5 pm. The Peotone organizers encourage vendors to stay as long as possible.

Peotone's schedule allows vendors and buyers to drive from home and get back within the weekend without having to take off of work. This is a big issue for me. I can't attend some shows during the week because I can't take off work as I'd like. By ending early afternoon Sunday, attendees can make it home Sunday night to many destinations in the midwest.

While the Saturday early buyer fee is stiff, the Sunday early buyer fee is a good deal in my opinion. When you consider what you already pay for gas and a motel, the $15 difference from normal admission is worth the hour and a half headstart.

Peotone nearly always has one of the best selections of unrestored and restored gas pumps of any show it's size that I have attended.

This is a great show. One that should not be missed if possible. The promoters do a fantastic job in accomodating the dealers and
getting large numbers of collectors and the general public to the show. Like most of lifes endeavors the early bird gets the worm.
There are usually lots of worms available at this show!

I agree this is the best show for vendors and buyers no disappointment at Peotone lots of oldgassers will be there.Nita and Tyler are going.Pictures from last years show. There is another room behind this room.

Where can you find unopened globes still in the box that Tom Buckles is a hunter.

Some of the pumps are so rare body guards are hired.

RERUN aka JJ is allowed in if he keeps his hands in his pockets,KAREN lets BOB go to the show but he can't take any money and has to keep his arms folded.

Does anybody know if you can just drive up and buy an outside spot? I have e-mailed these guys several times to no avail, I'm sure there covered up, but I am wondering if this is possible.

Seth,
Phone Tim Smith (815) 436-4733. He's been out of town on business, but his wife is up to date on what's going on at the show.
Hope you can make it.

This is a GREAT show for both buyers and sellers. The promoters make the vendors stay until at least 1:30 although the buyers all but stop coming in at 11:30. I've set up at every spring show and you can set your watch by when the people stop coming in.
This show generally brings in around 1100 buyers. Not many shows draw that number of buyers.

I dont think that there is such thing as a bad show for the oldgas gang! I just wish they didnt spread it out so much,Sat seems like a dead day to me for this show.Maybe have the auction early sat morning and early buyers that night and then the normal show on Sun.???????I think that people would attend the auctions more on a saturday than a friday, they would even get more attention if we didnt have to pay a buyers premium!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Steve,
The auction is not affiliated with the show.
Even if it were there wouldn't be enough time to clean out the building after the auction, then get all the tables and chairs in place, and still have time for vendor set up and early buyers on Saturday evening.
As a vendor at this show I can tell you that Saturday is anything but a dead day.
Don't get me started about the buyers penalty!
