Gas Alley:

What a coincidence . . . I just won one of those on e-bay!

I think I'm gonna do mine as 'Gilmore'.

As soon as I get the unit in my possession, I'll post a shot or two of it in BOTW.

Later . . .

Jim

...out of curiosity - does your lubester have 'GRCO' embossed vertically on the pumps, under the handles, near where it bolts on the tank itself..?

That thing looks so good...

Three questions:

How rusty were the pump castings before you started working on it?

What kind of paint did you use?

Where did you get the wood knobs?

Thanks,
Wes

thanks for the comments.the pumps do say grco on the pumps.the tags say tokheim. its funny you asked about the pumps being rusted.they were actually busted.water had gotten into the pumps sometime and froze in the winter breaking one pump in 2 pieces the other in 3 pieces.i welded the castings back together using nickel rod.the paint is dupont base coat clear coat.the wood knobs come from vic's 66.thanks again

...I thought so! These pumps were made for the Gulf Refining COmpany, hence the letters in the casting...I've got a early pamphlet that shows the thing in Gulf livery, except it's got THREE pumps on top instead of two...hopefully I can get my hands on one someday...

...helluva job putting the broken castings back together...
