While visiting my girlfriend up in Mosinee, Wisconsin, I happened across this old station. I think it was a Texaco from the looks of it. Unfortunately, this 70-year-old beauty is being bricked over for a new (and more run-of-the-mill looking) life as another Main Street business.

Across the street sits a Mobil, which, amazingly, has the hanging shield sign out front. A close look at the sign shows that it's been "restored" by painting it white, and applying vinyl graphics. Still very cool. Also note all the Revere-style shades everywhere.

Here's an old Phillips 66, now a used car dealer, that I spotted while sitting at a red light in Indianapolis. Pretty cool that it's still standing - you don't see too many of these around anymore...

While riding a train recently, I spotted an old Texaco, complete with Banjo sign! I scrambled for my camera, and managed to snap these two pics at about 40mph. I know they're of Yeti or UFO quality, and I apologize for that. If you look carefully at the zoom-in in the second pic, you'll see that there's also a Hexagonal Texaco sign above the front door.

Here are some great pics from the other Wes -- Wes Maxwell.

----
These were taken around Hardy Arkansas.

The Magnolia station was in town.

The antique shop was up the road a few miles. I got a very nice Sinclair Mobiline sign from the owner.

More from Wes Maxwell:

-----
These were from a trip out west.

They were at a truck stop on the west side of Lincoln Nebraska on I-80. The place was full of pumps, globes, signs and even a few old vehicles.

From DCpate:

-------
Here’s a pic for FATW. It’s in some small town in central OK, tried to track the owner down, an older lady who owned the liquor store had just sold the building a month or so before I talked to her. Notice the original porcelain panels on front of the building.
