Here are a few of my favorite can buys for the year. The 1st picture has a Round Trip from California and a Red Hat from Sioux City, Iowa. The second picture has a Wareco Outboard. Two signs I picked up this year that were my favorites. The Super Lube I got from Ron Bettin at Iowa Gas. I loved the colors on it and had to have it. Thanks Ron. The last is a neat flange that I picked up recently. I love flanges especially ones you don't see very often. Great stuff as always guys and can't wait to see more. Super job as always DOC and thanks for all you do for oldgas.

POSTING BEST OF BUYS FOR BUSTERMONTY.....
------------------------------------------------------

Hi, Would you please post these for me. The first is a Goodyear double sided porcelain blimp. It came from
Europe and is one I've never seen before. The second post is 9 of the 14 SOCONY signs I bought from a lady
who found them in her garage storage area. The third is a picture of what has to be my petro related buy of the year.
I just closed this afternoon on this former Phillips 66 station. No hidden goodies but a great corner to develop.
Thanks, Greg
(BUSTERMONTY)

Probably my best buy of the year were these 2 Gulf pump plate signs at an estate sale for $7 each! And this was at 3:00 in the afternoon after it had been open all day.

The Standard sign is 10 feet long and porcelain. I'm still trying to figure out what the numbers are in the corner. If anyone knows, please post it.

The Magnolia sign is not mint, but I like it.

My two favorite buys of the year. The Erie 53 came from an ebay purchase. I was able to beat out another oldgas member, luckily, he bought one a couple months later.

I was able to make a deal for the Tokheim 850. It was the property of a museum. Obviously they didn't want to sell it, but I found out they wanted a visible more than the 850. Whoppie!

Happy New Year to you all. I hope you make great finds in '06.

It's tough picking out the three best things I bought.
I'd say this globe was the best piece I got in '05. It was used by Sherwood Brothers who were Richfield jobbers. Note the Richfield shield. This one is a new discovery.

This hand painted tin sign probably dates from the 1920's and was used at a Sinclair station in a small town near where I live/

This certainly isn't the prettiest globe around but it is the only known example. Pierce was a Sinclair affiliate so I had to have it.
