I recently picked up this lubester. Its an old Beacon. Unfortunatley, it is not the original tank, and the lid, that covers the drain back, has been cut off. But a nice piece none the less. I've been drawn to lubesters lately, and this one really called out to me. Like my other projects, it was totaly disassembled, cleaned, primed, and painted. The tank is not yet completed in this pic, but I just had to see it together. Although I can't get the pump to work, even after soaking in muriatic acid, it will get a new leather seal and spring. Eventually the pump will get polished brass rods. This lubester, will be, overdetailed, and painted in a two tone Yellow and Blue, like a Powerlube sign with the Tiger. And will be displayed next to one of my 36B's, to be painted in the Powerine "Bearcat" colors. Does anybody make the leather seals and springs? IP: Logged |

You need to get your priorities straight and finish off that garage before you play around with that service station junk! (I was speaking for your wife). I have a postcard for you. I saw it at the Ventura Flea Market last weekend and thought of Mr RPM so if you want it I will send it to you. Email me your address. IP: Logged |

I finally got a little time to spend with my lubester.... I painted the front panel a light orange color. I masked off the inner rectangle, then cut in the 1/4 circle corners. This was followed with the blue paint over the remaining portion of the tank. I'm thinking of a few pinstripe highlights here..... IP: Logged |
