HELLOOOOO OLDGASSERS! TIME ONCE AGAIN TO START A FRESH BRAND NEW "MAP OF THE MONTH!"

THIS TIME WE'RE LOOKING AT THE ROAD MAPS ISSUED BY THE CONTINENTAL OIL CO. OR "CONOCO" FROM PONCA CITY, OK.

THE FAMILIAR CONOCO TRIANGLE COMES FROM AN EARLIER BRAND NAMED MARLAND WHO BOUGHT OUT THE CONTINENTAL OIL CO. BACK IN 1929 AND HAD USED THE TRIANGLE LOGO FROM 1920-1929. ALSO IN THE CONOCO FAMILY OF AFFILIATES ARE THE NAMES KAYO, JET, DOUGLAS, MALCO, WESTERN, DS (DIRECT SERVICE), MILEAGE, HUSKY AND OF COURSE MARLAND. IF ANY ROAD MAP EXAMPLES OF THE AFFILIATE NAMES ARE OUT THERE PLEASE POST THESE AS WELL.

SO LET'S JUMP RIGHT ON IN AND GET THIS MOTM #15 ON THE ROAD!

THANKS!

DOC @ THE AMERICAN GARAGES

WOW! THAT BANNER I MADE LOOKS SUPER!

OKAY, LET'S START OF WITH SOME OF THE EARLIEST EXAMPLES OF CONOCO
ROAD MAPS THAT I COULD FIND.

THESE FIRST THREE ARE FROM A TIME (PRE-MARLAND) WHEN CONOCO USED THE "MINUTEMAN" ON THEIR SIGNS AND LOGOS.

1924 MONTANA

1924 WYOMING

1927 ARKANSAS

1930 NEW MEXICO
USING THE NEWER TRIANGLE LOGO AFTER THE MARLAND BUY-OUT.

THANKS!

The following link from CONOCO PHILLIPS has multiple links relating to JET stations in EUROPE.
Some of the links have country maps showing the locality of JET stations and mini histories of CONOCO.
Some of these sites are in English.

CONOCO PHILLIPS is also involved in selling gasoline in Switzerland under the COOP brand .
http://www.coop-mineraloel.ch/

In Turkey with the TURKPETROL brand .

In Malaysia they have the proJET banner.
http://www.projet.com.my/index.php

And in THAILAND under the JET sign
http://www.jet.co.th/index.php

Some of these links include map locations of gas stations, radio and television ads.
An interesting variety of links even though they are not all in English .
