Nice here today, so I got out in the woods behind an old station that has been around and operating a long time.

I know the pumps aren't anything special, but I like the look. Nice stainless, Mobil ad glass. All parts in decent shape. I'll have fun with it. Should shine up nice! It will be collectable someday.

I think I'll put a new style Mobil globe on the pump I got and some decals. Make it look retro. I know it's not a old visible or 39 tallboy, but I like it, and it was free. Will display nice outside.

I can't believe the rack was in as good of shape as it was. It was partially in the ground. Who knows how long it has been sitting there. Solid. I'll restore it. Haven't thought of a theme, but I guess that's half the fun!! Bottom pic is at my place unloaded. It has a tag marked "SelOil". There is a door on the bottom and it has an stainless steel container in it. Neat old piece

I SUPPOSE IF YOU HAD A 60'S OR 70'S MUSCLE CAR THOSE PUMPS WOULD DO JUST FINE AESTHETICALLY ON THE SIDELINES. I SUPPOSE IF A COUPLE OF PUMPS LIKE THAT BECAME AVAILABLE TO ME FOR FREE, I WOULD DEF TAKE 'EM AND TURN THEM FOR A PROFIT TO SOME MOTORHEAD! LOL!!

Hey Guys,
Just a reminder......
If you see something posted in Showcase and Stories you can assume its not for sale, so please don't ask!(by posting OR email). We've had a lot of complaints about this over the years and it has caused some people to stop posting in BOTW and some of the other features.
If you have something for sale, please post that item in the For Sale or Trade forum. The only exception to that is when someone asks if someone has a specific item for sale in the General Petroliana Discussion forum. In that instance its ok to post a reply saying you have the needed item for sale.
Thank You,
Bob Drake

Started to tear mine down. Just thinking about plans for it. What a great way to relax!!!

Here's my plans for it.

Mount a newer style Mobil Premium Globe in blue body. Decal or a sign (depends on what I find, watching some on ebay) of the same on the bottom, and I was thinking of a Pegesus (sp) decal on the large white area on the face plate to break it up a little. And a nozzle and hose.

Kind of give it a "resto-mod" look. If they can use that term to describe hot rods, why not gas pumps!! Too cold to get out my "Hot Rod". Ha ha ha.....

I figure once the guts are out, polish it and put it back together, add the goodies, and presto....Easy resto.
