Could anyone supply me with a contact for re-lidding an oil can? What does everyone think of this practice? Does it enhance the value of the can or detract from it? Thanks.

There is a gentleman in Wichita Falls, Texas named Howard Hatcher that can do that for you. Two years ago, I bought 4 Hudson cans that had been soldered together to make a porch ornament. I sent them to Howard, he cut them apart and straightened them with a quart die that he has and filled them and put a new lid on. He does great work!! I think it helps the value in a case like that, but it is just personal preference. I'm sure you can get his info from 1411 or off the internet of from another member of this forum.
