Picked up this 6ft double sided Diesel Fuel Neon sign recently and I'm about to start replacing the neon. Was told that it may be affiliated with a gas company but have not been able to find any information on it. Any ideas of if it was associated with any specific company or brand? Thanks for any help.

Rich, I really like your sign, I bet it will look really fantastic once the neon is up and working.... As to a specific Oil Company, sorry I can't help you as, I have no idea....

Looking at the sign, it strikes me more of one that would have been outside one of the hundreds of Independent Trucks Stops along the highways and byways of the 50s and 60s..

But just as easily, it could be tied to a small regional Oil Company, also...

Try contacting Wayne Henderson... Since he has his new book out on All-American Truck Stops, he just might have an answer for you.

Thanks Bob. I'll try that. Wondering if anyone else might have seen this color scheme or design anytime. It also had a neon ring going all the way around the outside of the can. Someone said possibly Blue Grass Oil/Gasoline Co. Anyone know anything about this company?

Being a painted tin sign suggests that it was made for an independent operator due to overall low cost construction. No outer neon ring and the smaller glass insulator's for the neon tube contacts. Construction also suggests that it's probably a 60's-70's sign.
