I recently aquired this clear vision visible gas pump. The tag on it has two dates...1919 and 1920. It has ribbed skins and the cylinder has the numbers etched into the glass. Since this pump was made in wichita ks and I am only about 10 miles from wichita I want to restore it as a pump that would have been around this area. I think vickers is an option but was there ever a derby visible? Any other suggestions? Thanks for the help

It is totally up to you, but I would consider leaving it in the state is in. Originality is getting more and more desirable!

Derby would be a more period correct company. Or Kanotex also.

Brandon,

Nice looking Clearvision pump and good to hear your still on the hunt for gas & oil. Derby was founded in like 1916 and Vickers was in 1918 but Derby had a lot more stations in the area in the late teens & twenties compared to Vickers. If you would like, text me and I can send you some pictures of earlier stations.

Marshall

Always looking for more Derby, Vickers, KanOTex, & Elreco gasoline & oil items!
