The moron I bought this from and who took 9 months to ship it to me, removed the spigot and now wants me to pay more shipping so I told him to keep it!! It became a matter of principle for me.
Anyway, I'm looking to buy such a spigot for this barrel if anyone has something similar. Something with a downturn spout would be cool!

That's just a common old gate valve, although it is an older one. You should be able to find some cool looking old barrel spigot?

Steve this is the best one I have for that purpose, my others are old brass faucets for water. If you want it give me your address and I'll send it to you.
Oh, and congrats on finally getting the lid, I wish I could've helped you when I was near him several months ago. Rick

It might be Too Nice as it is a NOS spigot

I believe your talking about his threaded insert. So yes.

I see quite a few that have the flip type handle. I really want something with a knob. I like those fancy knobs like what it had. But with a turn down nose.

I don't think they ever had gate valves (the turn handle) on them Steve. Every barrel I have ever had had the pull open style like Rick has.

plus there was no way to lock the turn style handles.

I will see what I have Buddy and send you some photos.

Keeping you in our prayers!

Thanks very much Rick, but your correct. It's just to nice. I don't think it will look right.

An oldgasser sent me an email with a couple slightly crusty ones, but I'll be damned if I can find the email or remember who it was. So if your out there and see this, please get in contact with me again. My mind has been a little out of it.

Damn I like to be as accurate possible. But I really like the look of one of those old knobs. I'll have to give it some thought.
And thanks for the prayers Mike!!!!

Let me know if the one attached to the tee is what your looking for. The others would need a bushing to be used. I never got to far to look for my barrel spigots as its too fricken hot right now to look in my storage trailer.
