Anyone ever even seen one of these. I would love to buy one if anyone has one their willing to let go of.

Pretty early doesn't explain much.

Lead tops before WWII, plastic tops after. Anyone feel free to correct me if you have better info.

It is listed or pictured in the "Got a Drop of Oil" books.
that are devoted to oilers.

I saw the can in the Miller/Sonewald "More Oil Cans for the Collector" book. It said 1935. Which of course is pre WWII. Not sure what type of plastic the top is made of being from that era.

Personally, I just love this era of older Blue Yellow stuff that Sunoco did.

I would think it is a pipe dream to ever find one. I just thought I would take a shot on Oldgas.

Here's a 2 gallon with the same livery/paint scheme dated 1936 which helps to support the dating on the oiler. Although taken from the same source.
