I was unprepared & didn't get enough pics, But here's a few from the event. Bought, sold, traded & met a few oldgas members. I was sad to see it end. Anybody else got any photos from spring Carlisle? I could have stayed another week.

Some more. The Colonial curb sign belongs to a friend that I went with. It's hidden away in his garage. Every time I'd go walking around I'd get 1/4 mile away & then realize I forgot my camera. If you ever get the chance to go see spring Carlisle GO!

Carlisle is on my bucket list... even though I'm on the other side of the world, I've heard & seen pics of on how large it is, I just want to go someday... It makes our big swap meets in Melbourne Australia (Ballarat & Bendigo - approx 1000-2500 sites) look like a local craft market in comparison..

If you think Carlisle is big,you should check out the AACA fall meet at Hershey. Over three times the size of Carlisle. 8000 vendor spaces.

I went to Spring Carlisle this time as a VENDOR for the first time. Really wasn't sure what to expect and have realized I don't think I have to stomach for it.
Gets boring just sitting there in the hot sun and then dealing with the lowballers. I had a guy buy some stuff then I saw the stuff in his spot for 2x the price!
It was Thursday so the foot traffic was down but came home with stuff I thought would be gone, I think I certainly priced it right..
I have a new appriciation for the "vendor type"..
Started thinking on the drive home (in a rented van..$$) could have done the same thing at home in front of the computer.

There are many e-bay shoppers at Carlisle Monday thru Wednesday evening. They drive up and down the rows like SHARKS. Most of the good Petro Items are bought up before the show. There are many Petroleum items left for the show but most prices are skyhigh. Carlisle is still a great time and great atmosphere for picking up a deal IF you are Quick enough.

An old friend brought a few items to sell alongside another vendor @ Carlisle a few years ago.Said he didn't wish to sell on eBay,as he wasn't that computer literate.
He sold everything he brought in person, only to see it all listed on ebay a week later, getting nearly 3X more money then what he sold it for @ Carlisle, and that's saying something.

thats unbelievable... i know there are always people that swoop in early to buy the stuff on the first day and stick on their own site with double the prices... then there are those who are "vendor dwellers", show up with a site so that they get in before the public enter, buy up and fill up their wagon or trailor, but then sell one item to allow them to be a site vendor.

I sold my 4x10 Colonial Gas sign on Thursday for $200 & saw it repriced the same day for 500. Idk if it sold. Cant say I didn't do it though. Bought two signs on Saturday for $500,sold one of the two for 400. Also brought home stuff I thought would sell & it didn't. So I'm going to double the price & try next year. Its hard to sell 60s & 70s era Camaro parts when the company next to me sells new stuff. I'm looking into Hershey.

just did dixie gas for the first time (and had a blast) and half the stuff i sold early was spread around the entire site the next day for sale at higher prices, but that's the game! doesn't bother me at all. i set my price, and happy when it sells. after that, it's like a girl you break up with...who cares where it goes after your done with it! just sayin...chuck
