Why does a short 39 have 2 piece hinges ? Will a 1 piece hinge work on a short Tokhiem 39 ? What is different that the short ones need the 2 piece squared off 2 piece ones ?

You can use three one piece hinges on a short 39. You need the two piece hinge where the door closes on the interior piece of the nozzle receiver. The one piece hinge will not let the door close because it catches on the nozzle receiver. Richard
