I have a chance to buy this globe and would like to get some thoughts on value. The seller wants $1400 firm. I have an Original Standard Pump to put this globe on. Is $1400 in the ballpark? Thanks, Darrin

Not in my opinion, looks like a repaint & it’s missing the bottom ring. If it was NOS yes, but this one is not.

I agree it appears to be a repaint, looks pretty uneven around the lower band area and the blue just isn't right to me but that could be my computer screen settings. It very well could have been a blue crown originally as it has the arrows around the lower ring instead of the slash marks, as the earlier crowns did. Most blues, including my original dated 3-41 have copper rings. To me personally a repaint is valued about the same as a white crown but others may not agree with that.

I remember reading a post from Scott Anderson about how theirs a cut-off area of paint on the original painted crowns.
