I have a Dayton 400 that has what appears to be a globe mount incoporated into the jar lid. The Dayton 400 in Jack Sim's book has a bonnet and I'm just wondering if they used the same jar lid on all of the Dayton 400s that is capable of mounting a bonnet. Does anyone make a bonnet for a Dayton 400?

Just finished a 450C. All the pictures I took did not turn out and the pump is delivered to the new owner. The jar lid I had had the glass center piece just like the Waynes except bigger. I ordered a bonnet from Gas Pump Heaven and had to build mounting brackets for it. Talked to Ron Scobie and he has two 400, they have the globe incorporated into the jar lid so I would say yours is correct. Hope this helps. This was the heaviest pump I have ever restored. Used the tractor to take the frame and pump meck. out of the barn so I could sandblast it. If you have other questions let me know. Nice pump when restored. Have fun putting the upper skins on without scratching it. Richard

You got that right about the pump being heavy. Normally I can load a visible into a 4X4 by myself but not this one - I had to use a tractor with a farm hand to bring this one home.

I'll bet they used two different jar lids. I'm not too crazy about the globe mount being incorpaorated into the jar lid as it simply looks like something is missing.

George, I fogot I had these pictures of another 400. First picture is the inside of the bonnet with brackets leading down to the globe holder on the jar lid like yours. The second shows the globe holder on the jar lid. The repop from GPH have the bracket holes out on the end of the bonnet not up near the top. Richard
