I have these 2 globes oriental Ethyl and oriental regular.I know nothing about the company.Does anyone have any info on this company?
Thanks,
Tom
All I know is they were a Denver based company. Many of their stations used Starky gas pumps that used tokens. Keep watching the Colorado COTM feature in the Showcase and stories section. Maybe one of the other Colorado guys knows more.
Also there are two other globes to complete the set. There is a "Bronze" globe that looks similar to the two you have. There is also the Oriental "Colorado Made" globe like the one t-way posted in the COTM.
I'm looking for both these globes if anyone has them for sale.
What little I know about Oriental...they had refineries in Denver & Alamosa, Colorado & in the early 1950's had stations in Canon City..Colorado Springs...Denver..Craig..Golden..& Pueblo Colorado. They advertised as being refiners & marketers of gasoline..distillates..furnace oils..diesel fuels..and fuel oils.
I have just posted 4 Oriental globes on the globe album. Here is the link:
