Thank for posting this Randy I wanted to but could not figure it out lol
Leave it full, you can always empty. I here people say they are worth the same either way but i don't see that when i see them sell…..Full one seems to bring more most of the time...
i prefer them empty... but I leave my full ones as-is... just because of what Owen stated above. Full ones seem to bring more when it comes time to sell
If it isn't broke don't fix it.... any leakers get drained but the metal quarts that are in great shape with no leakage, I leave them be.
Dick Bennett said it best.
"It's harder to stomp on them when they're full".
I empty my full cans. An ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure. I collect stuff for my own enjoyment what it's worth today or may be worth someday never plays into the equation for me. It won't be me selling it....
I always prefer full but will buy a special can that's empty only if the top and bottom are still present. The closer to original, the better it is for the investment!
Great poll Randy.
I consider myself lucky whenever I get a full metal can.
Full is a bad idea when you're trying to settle an insurance claim and get paid. I have never seen a full can pull more than an empty if the condition is there.
poll ended- pretty much even...
...and no discussion of leaving metal vs. cardboard cans full...
I am draining some at present. Paper cans to sell. I will use the oil and sell the can. Lighter to haul and will not leak.
If it is metal and in good condition I will leave the oil in it.
Most of the ones I keep for myself I drain.
...and no discussion of leaving metal vs. cardboard cans full...
That's a whole other can of worms
I'll keep my cans full thereby doubling my sons resale opportunities if you know what I mean.
Thanks again Randy. This is what I was finding there is not a right or Wrong way lol. I take from the survey you own them do what you like best. Thanks Again
