Can't its framed. Its card heavy card stock paper. No date on the item.

Probobly 1/8 thick paper.

I'm pretty sure this is a card stock sign, and I have seen one for sale on Ebay within the last year.....

there is only one clue of the age (if real) -

would be the mobil font ( DWSheffer would know) '31/'32 ?

Yes, I would agree the sign is circa 1938-40 with the serif font used.
