I dont think I've seen a post about Peotone... dont forget, only 10-days away! Setup is March 11 and show is March 12. One of best run shows there is... very specific times and requires no time off work for the M-F guy. Hope to see many of you there!
Dad and I will be there in our usual spot in the front room! Always a great show and worth attending!
Aaron
Great show! I'll be setting up with a friend in the back room.
A great show where the People running it really adhere to what they state.
I'll be there again.
Just did a search and found the pictures from the show last year. I had no idea how much was available for sale!
Will there be pictures posted the night before like last year?
I'll be there with my trailer full
Tom.
It's too bad that Mason-Dixon is same weekend. John Mancino won't be at Peotone. I'm planning on going but won't be setting up. Better wear the long johns! Forecast has changed from a high of 52* four days ago to now a high of 27* and a low of 20* with 1-3" of snow for Saturday. And of course the wind will be blowing 10-20! BRRRRR!!
the snow looks like it may stay away completely.
nothing better than a nice cozy warm indoor swap meet... and when you get too hot, just step outside to look at the pumps and outside vendors!
some of the busiest swap meets are when the weather is a bit cold, cause people aren't doing stuff outside at home!
Any preview pics from setup today?
Thanks for taking the effort to post these pictures!
Photos from Peotone IL swap meet today
All photos posted by me in this topic were taken by Michelle and Tim Smith of the Peotone Show
Thanks for the pics. Anybody know who had the Loreco Motor Oil sign and globe, in the 2nd to last photo posted?
Wow looks like a very nice show!! Gotta make the trip some day for this one!!
Love the Caterpillar neon!!!!
Thanks for pics!!!
Anyone know if that Mobil globe is 16.5" and who's it was?
Thank you for posting the pictures Jim.
There's a LOT of items in these pictures that were already gone by the time I raced around the place at 8am for the regular shopping time. I'm guessing the early buyer's extra hour and a half head start really does make a difference. I didn't think it would!
Can someone please tell me how much the Sterling Gasoline sign was? I want one but never saw it there.
Oh it makes a difference there.Money well spent before 8AM.
A lot is bought and sold on Saturday. Some people only attend Saturday, and don't bother with going Sunday.

Loreco booth was mine. Sold the sign, still have the globe. PM for details
Love the Caterpillar neon!!!!
Too bad it's fake.
Man that looks like one sweet swap meet, thanks for the pics

So there is a show before the show? It was advertised as Sunday only.
Thanks for taking the time to post the photos, Jim. Does anyone recall who had the Royal Triton Motor Oil sign, and perhaps the price? This sign is in Photo #8 on the first page of this thread. Thank you. John

Thanks. Didn't realize there was an unadvertised early bird buyers day on Saturday for $50 due to the advertised early bird buyers time of 6:30am on Sunday for $20, before the advertised regular admittance of $5 for Sunday at 8am.
Not cool.
Most know every show has a day before set up fee,be you vendor or not.
It's not advertised as well on their main front page, but if you click on the VENDORS button on their flyer tab,it's clearly shown in the bottom right sentence.
..."Saturday Buyer Fee $50.00 per person."
So will there be an super-duper early bird special Friday night fee of $60 next year? ;-)
Just askin' ...

Dealers at any show always get a crack at buying other dealers items before the public. Come on setup day and bring your own stuff to swap or pay the early bird fee. This is a great show with lots of buyer traffic and gas pumps.
anyone know if the koolmotor sign is for sale or sold?

That's my booth, I still have it. Shoot me a PM
Looking for the owner of this booth. I would like to know more about the Phillips 66 shield globe.
When this show first started there was only general admission on Sunday. It was a mad house. Buyers would practically run through the swap meet.
The format evolved over the years to what they have now. Vendors and early buyers on Saturday, early buyers at 6:30 and general admission at 8:00 on Sunday.
Great show it looked fun!!

Maybe I should ask what people think the value of a sterling sign like this could be? I'm wondering if I could even afford one if I found one, or just put the pursuit of one out of my mind. Thanks.
Who had the neon BUS sign?
He is on Ebay as advertisingcollector, in Hanover il
Does anybody have the contact information for the trailer of pre- visible gas pumps next to Tom Buckles trailer? I believe his name was John Cramer.
