First off I would like to say it was very nice meeting Bob and Karen Drake as well as Richard Weir and Don Raleigh as well as seeing Bill Fortune all oldgassers.

Several items were bought and sold on the very hot and steamy Thursday. I got to the show at 7 am on Thursday and the show was already rocking. The first three pictures are some of the items I purchased for my collection.

This Signal sign was about 6-8 ft and was made of cardboard and dating 1936. A neat item in excellent condition.

Great Pics Scott. I've never seen the Magnolia with the Socony badge in the center. That's a cool sign. Thanks.

A friend of mine was thinking about buying that Magnolia/Socony sign but it had extensive touch up. Asking price was $1500.

Bob is right on the Magnolia sign. It looked good from far but far from good.

How much/ who had the giant porcelain bear?
Posted By: dodogas Re: Columbus Gas Show Pictures (Signs) - Mon Jun 21 2004 05:45 PM
Looks like Grizzly gas from Montana/Idaho

Wonder what they were asking myself, about 10 days back there was a postcard from Bonners Ferry ID that showed a Grizzly station with wayne 60's and a bear curb sign..COOL stuff!!

The Grizzly was out in the parking lot so I don't know if it was for sale or being delivered or what. I just took a picture of it because it was huge and cool.

I heard the owner of the large bear sign say that it was from a supermarket in the western Pennsylvania area. Didn't hear if it was for sale or an asking price.

Bear sign,
there was one on ebay about a year ago. Double sided, porceline. Opening bid was $10,000. Don't remember it getting 1 bid.

Dick.. The one you were talking about is one that losthighway had for sale. It was about 14 feet tall and 22 feet wide I think. Just imgine the neon!

Bear sign was on it's way to a museum for restoration and display. Not for sale.
