Take a look at ..mecum.com...Bob McDorman's collection being sold..1000 SIGNS !! September 11-12...Canal Winchester, Ohio....Just thought I would pass the info. along...v
Does anyone know why Bob is selling, especially at no reserve? Going to be alot of good stuff there.
I plan on making the sale, I saw the 57 collection in Branson, Mo. A ton of good stuff....
Mick
if you haven't been to his business and seen his collection, hurry! it is unbelievable. from #1 serial number cars to a full gas station replica. worth the trip even if you don't have a corvette to show.
I dont believe I've ever seen so many neon signs at one time...man what a collection...
Am I wrong in saying that only part of his signage collection is going to be for sale?
That's how big it is..
I thought I read that somewhere on the net.
A friend of mine sold Chevs for BM in the 70's. Said Bob wasn't a kid then. He's like the rest of us, not getting any younger???................
Well, that explains why Chevy signs are so hard to find
Did anyone go to this sale? I thought some of the signs were very reasonable, the big signs and the outdoor ones sold good. I think the Standard sign on the pole was $6000 or 8000, wow. Who bought the big Chevy signs outside?
I was there...it was incredible, $400 reproduction 24'' tin corvett signs bringing up to $1800.....a flashing arrow with light bulbs with a broken & fake plastic ok button that was worth at best $500 brought $8000....it went on & on & i could not understand this bidding mentality & left...never did see the big signs sell......
I thought alot of that was repo???? I thought some of the legit signs sold well. Thanks Daryl.
What did the Buick vertical neon sell for?
