The globe is original and very early. Probably from the early 1910's. Socony used those metal bands over the glass for some reason. I have seen old photos with that globe in it. The globe is kind of ugly don't you think? I know, but still rare!!!

I'm thinking it might be an oil cabinet globe, maybe someone has a picture. anybody ???????

I really like it but its gonna soar way over my meager collector budget. Neat globe though (because I love the socony mobil stuff and its a really early one)
