Mick didn't see a thread on this so I opened one up. If it exists just move it to there.
Last week my wife and I went to St George UT via BC, WA, OR, CA and NV. Our first day we stopped at Dave's Garage and met up with Dave Gill. He has an amazing collection spread all over his yard, barn, containers and house. Three hours blew by quickly and off we went to Vancouver to catch a U2 concert. Now they just opened up their world tour the night before so this had the possibility of being an expensive sound check concert but I am glad to report it was great. If you're a fan and you haven't bought tickets yet-you'll not be disappointed. From there we jumped a couple of ferries to start the US part in Port Angeles.
The whole of Hwy 101 that we did was marked by O&G stuff from old stations that are still functional to abandoned ones. Many were re-purposed into hair salons, coffee shops and whatever fit.
Now I am an A to Z kind of driver but OG and Wayne 60 (Henry) have made me slow down and smell the oil. I even stopped once in a while to take a picture.

We went into a 100 antique stores along the way but aside from a few Valvoline Composite cans that seemed to be everywhere the antique stores were short on O&G stuff. Lots of clothes, furs, books, records and porcelain-plate, not signs! Many of the towns along the way were shrinking as commerce moved elsewhere. One in NW California had a population of 20 on the sign. The number was crossed and replaced with a 0 but right below it was an ad for fast better internet! Astoria OR had a very nice revitalized older part of town. The antiques shops were too many and the results poor so we stopped going in. There was too little time in the day!
Many of the old buildings still had very nice neon signs still attached. Cool looking stuff.
