I just grabbed this sign today. I know nothing about Oilzum. What would this sign be used for as its single sided? And I basically know it is legit but I just want to make sure. Back is painted white. 31 1/2 inches x 30 inches. Was $165 a good deal? Thanks for any info.

Your sign is double sided. It was painted at some point on the one side. Great deal if you can get the paint off with no issues. Still a fair price as is.
Mainly focused on Oilzum, Jenney, Harris Oil items & original paint gas pumps.

There's gray under the white which looked like it was meant to be but maybe it's primer?

Maybe the wall got painted twice. If its latex, you may be in luck. You might want to give "Lift Off" a shot. I got it at Home Depot. It removes latex paint, and if you move just right it will leave the oil based behind.

The is something painted in black lettering under the white. We did get some orange to show thru though. Just afraid to ruin the orange.

Just my opinion....it's nothing now but a painted over sign (one half), even if you try and save it and it gets "ruined" you could always paint it white again LOL. But on the other hand you may bring it back to it's "original glory" ???

I did get some orange to pop up but the white is so thick. Looks like lead paint but I have no clue. I bought it assuming it was single sided so it's worth taking the chance. It is very difficult removing the white paint tho.

I wouldn't worry about trying to remove the paint, You may damage the good side if anything flows to the edge. It is not going to be worth anymore regardless of how it turns out. Nice sign at a great price

Rick- your probably right. Some times things are better left alone. I tend to make un-necessary projects, and sometimes make things worse in the end. Great sign-for the price.
