Picked up this GB electric and need to know what is going on with it. I can't locate an exact model number, but appears to be a 904? What is puzzling is that where the "V Trim" would normally be located there is a metal hole plug that fits like it was factory produced. It is the same on both sides. Then there are some small holes just below that appears to have accommodated the rib style trim. There is a site glass manifold on the pump, but it was by-passed.

Another oddity to me is there are no light bulb sockets located anywhere near the ad glass on this unit.

I appreciate any information regarding how best to restore. This is a porcelain pump.

Thanks,
Clayton

The holes you see are to release the doors. There should be a slotted assembly that should protrude into those holes. The ribbed trim would have a hole in it to match those holes. Sight glass is blocked off.

Over time, these pumps were configured by the user to serve his needs. The changes were probably done by a mechanic to allow the unit to function but not necessarily be pretty? This is the challenge you face when dealing with old stuff. Paul www.severngaspumps.com

The ad glass area never had a light down there, the light came down from the top.

Your pump is special because it is all porcelain and was made exclusively for Sohio.

IMHO, this look like a 994 which is a little older. The 994s have doors where the meter window is narrower than the ad glass - look like this to me...not sure the 994s did use the "V" trim...but rather the horisontal bars same as 96's.
