Can anyone tell me if this sign is the real deal or not, and if it is, why they would use the name "The Texas Company" in 1954 as the plate is dated? Its purported to be a porcelain pump plate attachment? Rumor has it that there was also a "No Smoking" one in white?

I still want to know why they used the logo "The Texas Company" at that late of a date?

Well that helps a lot Randy. I was aware that they stopped using the logo much earlier but wasn't aware they didn't do an official name change until then.
