Picked up this old European phone booth last weekend. I would like opinions. It's cast iron .had to move it with a tractor.

No floor I think they were bolted down in the corners.still extremely heavy. One side is solid and no phone. But has a light I think I can get going.original glass in top is dated 47. Might put a wood floor. But I'm considering pulling out the 72 Windows and sand blasting.

Hopefully some of the European members will chime in about value restore vs. unrestored. You have an extra option with this if it's identical on all 4 sides (excepting which is the door and where on the inside the phone would be) in that you can restore two sides and let the other two be, and just turn it to suit your needs... laugh

If it's for you, do what makes you happy.

If it were mine I would fully restore it, and keep it somewhere when people, especially young people of a certain age, who have never and will never be in a phone booth, can go in and make a call--cooler still if you can hook a land line phone to it. Great I think for the phone in the rec room--er--man cave...

If you are looking at value/usage you might also talk to props companies that provide props for Hollywood to see what they look for in a piece to rent out. I am guessing restored but with a used look to it, not all pretty and shiny.

restore it, those are gorgeous once restored, there are still some old phone booth in the centre of London and they repaint them with a fresh coat of paint so they look great for tourist pictures

the fakes ones are easy to spot, some are made of wood and weight far less than the original ones

here is a pic of one I photographed a few years ago

I was at an auction a couple months back where they had two nice ones. They each sold somewhere around 4500.00

If you're in it for profit restore it. Auction prices can range from a low of $1900 to $3500. So if you can get it into a premier auction you might do well.

Thank you everyone for the input. I think we're gonna restore it. My wife is happy about that. But I don't know if It will fit in with my rusty gas pumps. Might have to restore those too!
