What is the value of these big Texaco signs? Slightly faded, a few dings, not mint in any way. Dated 1948 clearly at the bottom. Thanks

55 views and no one has an opinion? To cut to the point, is there money to be made if I gave $350 for it? The woman who owns it is pretty stuck on that figure. I wanted to give $200 and try to make $50 on it and she thinks it's worth $500. I don't think it's mint enough to bring $500.

prolly no one responded because this is about as common as they come. a quick search of this forum or of ebay or liveauctioneers would yield actual sales history.
you are in my area, and that is a $500-900 sign pretty easily. throw it in a local farm auction, and it would prolly bring quite a bit more even.
if you really want to cut to the point, go give the $350 for it, then call me... I'll give you your $50 profit on it

I would also add to Bryce's post if you would have included this information in the original request, you probably would have had a reply sooner. But I agree, a very common sign easy to research and get an educated enough idea off Ebay. It took me 30 seconds to see 8 of them in completed sales..... Go buy it and make some money...... Darin

Agree with Bryce. I'd buy that sign all day long for $350, and double my money.

FYI, locally one sold from a regular sign seller in similar condition. He was asking $600. Everyone is right, a common sign on the market with well established following. Lately I see people buying similar condition 'commons' for $600-900 from individuals $1000-1400 at auction, subtract 25% and comparable money in your pocket. So if you want to simply make your money sell it yourself, if you want the auctioneer to make money simply because you ran it in their auction then put it there.
