Jeff,
I have never purchased a ECO air meter after looking at one picture. I will admit I did a few months ago, I purchased it from someone here on OG who I trusted, and when it arrived i Found that someone had ground off the bottom of the front cover, meaning I had to purchase a new front cover, costing me over $120.00. Meaning I spent more on the meter than I could expect after restoring it.
On my website I tell everyone, not to purchase any air meter unless you get a picture of what it looks like after the rear cover is removed. Actually if anyone is reading this, don't buy any air meter unless you get at least eight pictures. I hate to admit how many ECOs I have purchased not seeing the mechanisms, and have found out the hard way how many parts were missing. The main valve alone is worth between $250.00 and $500.00.
Since most people selling a ECO air meter will not guarantee anything as to the completeness, the condition of the sheet metal, is it pitted, is it dented, and to whether the mechanism works, I suggest before anyone purchases any air meter, ask question.
One more note. Why I did this I don't know, but I purchased a meter from Porto Rico. Took it apart, sent the sheet metal and frame to the sandblaster. The salt air in PR had rotted the parts so much that the sandblaster blasted four inch holes in the metal.
Since I don't do PMs I am responding here on OG. I would like more pictures of your ECO, and my email address is jhsim@petrocollect.com.
