I have done many of these pump meters with the simple green solution in hot water and let soak, but I am unsure if this would work on this type of meter. Anybody else have any thoughts, do not want to screw this up.
Thanks

Craig,
I just cleaned up 2 of these meters... If you use anything abrasive it will take the numbers off the wheel. This is what I did ..took off all the wheels and laid them face up in a pan and soaked them in W-40 for a week .. Then wiped them down with a soft towel . On mine a majority of the discolor came off. Just a pain to take the wheels of... Take pictures ... Was able to rotate the wheels to the best numbers for display.. Hope this helps ..Tom

I used a water soluble oven cleaner on some similar face plates.
It worked very well after I sprayed it on a rag then wiped it off right after applying.
The longer it sits, the more it will take off,so do a small test area to get the jist of it.

I just cleaned a meter up the other day. I took a storage tub and filled it with hot water and ERA laundry soap (liquid) for 2 days. I was amazed how well it cleaned everything up. After I took it out the tub I just hosed it off and cleaned with a old toothbrush. All the staining came off the numbers and look like new.
