Hi Everyone! Excellent site. I've been lurking for a few months now. I started collecting coins with my Dad back in the 60's, then stickers in the 70's and now it's gone from Montana bottles to signs and finally petro. I love it! Found my first pump ever on the 1st of the year while picking up a clock. I'm already doing electrolysis on this pump thanks to Oldgas. I was hooked. Found my second pump last week. A beauty of a Martin Scwartz 80 with ad glass top that had been stuck away in a building for 50 years. I want to be able to give back to this community for all the knowledge I've gained from it already. Thanks for letting me in.
Richard

Thanks everyone. Yes Cold Pizza, I grew up in Chicago in the 60's, early 70's and actually played pee wee hockey against Brett Hull, and an Esposito. It was pretty cool, I have some pictures of us 3 together. At the time, Bobby Hull, Tony Esposito and Stan Mikita were all on the Blackhawks. Stan is my Cousin. When we got to Montana in 73, nobody knew what hockey was, but when I crossed the border into Canada, They would ask the same thing, Any relation to Stan? Come right in and welcome! haha We'd go up there and play every weekend. Seems like Canada is just a big playground, with an ice arena, golf course and maybe curling rink in every little town. Richard welcome to OG, nice to have another hockey loving collector on here. I grew up in Winnipeg and the Hawks were the closest Original 6 NHL team to cheer for. And I still cheer for them, after the Jets of course. Man you hung out with hockey royalty back in the day. Yes Canadians love their hockey and they'd ask you to play a pick up game but you'd still get a facial with a glove! LOL. Love to see your pump when it's all done, here on OG.

Small world & glad to hear it. I'm 53 and grew up with the name Mikita all my life. Both playing & watching Hockey here in Chicago,I soon ran into Stan & his daughter Jane in the 1980's/90's..I stayed in touch as Jane was nearby and built a nice friendship with her & the family as we golfed in the same circles. I would always treat Stosh whenever he would let me,which was almost never. To hear Stans diagnosis of Dementia & not recalling any of his past today,is beyond heart breaking,as I'm sure you would agree.

Stan was the man. Even up north we heard about his special Olympics support which involved his family. Class act! I echo Rick's sentiment about his current condition.

Thanks guys! I haven't heard the name "Stosh" in years! Takes me back to the old days when my Dad would write "Rocket" on my Christmas hockey stick after the great Henri Richard. Those Canadians were tough to beat. Then the Oilers of the 80's, Gretzky, Kurri, Coffee just to name a few were exciting to watch. Then "the trade" of 88 that shook the hockey world, most of all Canada when LA got Gretzky. Yeah, that dementia, my Mom had it as well. Who knows where they are in their mind. It seems they just can't communicate, but we know who they were and they will not be forgotten. I tried to post a picture but the file is too big, is there a resizer on here?
