Hello all my name is Mike, I'm a 34 year old married father of 2 boys and an undetermined one on the way. I'm just starting to get into collecting and petroliana seems to be what I gravitate towards, I know I've still got alot to learn but I'm hoping with time, experience, and the help of forums like this I can learn to pick the right pieces and hopefully not overpay by learning all I can about them. I've already picked my first piece the other day, a Standard oil 5 gallon liquid measure can,it appears to be cast iron instead of galvanized steel but I couldn't even say what year it comes from, I've had problems learning anything about it and can't find another like it at all so as you can tell I've still got alot to learn about being educated about what I pick up and that's why I'm here, thanks y'all.

Welcome to Oldgas, Mike, from another Michigander. Where in Michigan?

Always looking for Standard Oil of Indiana, or any globes!
