Brought this old nozzle home and was told it was used on an oil barrel. Any one ever seen this style nozzle ? Says July 1884 on it and is inch and a half thread and also has EU- scoville on it .

It's a valve for a barrel, not necessarily an oil barrel. I've seen them used for everything from floor soap to paint thinner, to industrial oils.

Thanks for the good pics. I have looked at these but poor pics left my confused as to how they work. Real simple huh. I have a barrel project I'm gathering up parts for.
