Is anyone going to this auction? Some nice stuff in there for sure. Gotta love an auctioneer with the last name of Petro. Gotta love that no buyers penalty too. http://www.cnyauctions.com/iroquoisauctions.htm

That's Gary Hildman. I've known Gary for 20 years or more. Heck of a nice guy and always finding good stuff. Wish I could go.

I left absentee bids on two items at this sale. The auctioneer called today to tell me I got the "Basement" globe. Turns out I was the back up bidder on the Purple Flash globe. The auctioneer told me some of the globe prices. Most were quite reasonable. Not bargains, but not sky high either. There were some nice globes there too. I wonder with all the recent auctions if we've reached market saturation. Prices are still strong, but they seem to have leveled off in the past year. Bob

Racemad, Prices can be very intimidating to new collectors. Especially at an auction that has desireable stuff. I don't think prices have gone down (except on the common stuff), but they certainly aren't going up as fast as they have in recent years(except for the very best stuff). I only left bids on two items. I got one and was the back up bidder on the other. I would have bid on several other items, but I expected prices to be higher. Bob
