Thanks Darin. Yes I have been doing a lot of reading up on old posts and they are helpful. I collect a lot of different things. One of my main interests is old law enforcement badges. So many fakes and repros made and still being made today so I am used to doing my homework and also never afraid to ask for help. Here is a Porcelain Sign I am trying to buy from a friend but he thinks its worth more than it is. I offered 300.00 a while back and he did not bite. Its about 15 inches wide.

Thanks Wayno. Not sure, its from the 1950's and belonged to a fireman that was a neighbor of my girlfriends. She bought it for me after he passed at the estate sale the family had.

That pistol is pre. model 10 the diamond grips are a dead giveaway if they are original to the pistol. If you open the cylinder on the frame in front it would say model 10.If not it is a M(military)and P(Police)Very nice piece for your collection. You have a wonderful girl friend. It will not be stamped M&P.

You are correct, does not say model 10. I didn't think it was but have not handled it in a while and had to check. Thanks!

Thanks Matt! He is a good friend so I have to work him a little bit ha. I have this old Dalton Gang Museum sign that I believe used to hang either outside or inside the museum. This one is a small one roughly 13 by 6. I have never seen another one but I did see a large one that was a little different that sold on ebay last year, now someone on ebay is making the large ones but at least they say they are repros. Picked up mine at a outdoor flea market for 20.00. My gf actually found it. The lady said she had it 25yrs and I could probably double my money on it before I got to the car. Nope a keeper. I thought it went well with what I collect. Its not porcelain its painted on a heavy guage metal.

Nice looking collection.
P.S.-If you get that sign for 300.00, and then your buddy finds out what its really worth, a buddy he may not be any more...

Thanks guys! Jim I am not sure what that sheriff sign is worth. It does have some damage and some rust, it was under 12ft of water for quite a few days after hurricane Katrina hit his home in New Orleans. He said after the water receeded he salvaged what he could and stored the stuff away. He had forgotten about it until recently and was going through some boxes and located it. He cleaned it up and its looks pretty good considering.

No worries Dan, just like to get opinions as I am still learning.

Tractor 12 I think he bought it years ago at a Police Collectibles Show in California but it is funny how things travel all over.
