New guy here. I’m starting to seriously collect now, especially anything Mail Pouch and petro related advertising. I have a 31 Ford that needs some company in the garage. Really like thermometers but alway have an eye out for something. Glad I joined. I have a thousand questions.

Hey, North Carolina....
I’d recommend taking out 2 magazine subscriptions.
One for “Check the Oil” and the other to
“Petroleum Collectibles”. You can’t beat the info
in the articles, dates for gas & oil shows and
auctions and classifieds. Of course, Oldgas
classifieds & EBay are probably the best source
for items for sale. Enjoy the ride & hobby!

I agree, however if you are new to the hobby, you must know that the majority of signs (especially pump plates) are fake on eBay. So be very careful when purchasing on ebay. You can find a list of some fake sign sellers here:

http://www.oldgas.com/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=664999#Post664999

Scroll al the way to the end of the thread for the most recent update. However, the list does not include all scammers (it is for reference).

Welcome to a great website.
