Found this old Texaco today. I recently bought a Texaco ink pen off a good friend, and decided to do a Google Street view map search of the address on it and to my surprise, the building was still there. Drove out to it today and the new owners happened to be there working on it doing a major remodel to turn it into a pizza restaurant. They were really nice and gave me a tour and spent about 30 min talking to me. They didn't know it was an old Texaco, and liked hearing the history and see pictures of what it would have looked like. You could still see most of the original green paint on the walls and interior doors. The only original Texaco stuff left were the original painted over stripped panels on the outside, and I gave them a pretty good offer to buy them since they're changing everything around anyways. Keeping my fingers crossed that they'll decide to let me come take them down.

Nice to be able to chat with the new owners. In most FATW we are just breezing by with a few moments spent on a picture and back in the car we go! Good luck with the porcelain panels.

I think the clothes line is a Texaco pole. That's based on the green coloration of the pole. I noticed the finial from the back yard across the way and said that could be interesting.

Glad to see an old gas station in the next town getting new life as a body shop. An added bonus are some hot classic cars on the property.
BNM Auto Body in Hillsboro, MO will be opening for collision work soon.
