Would anyone know how well a 13 1/4 lense would fit into a 13 1/2 metal body? Would the retaining ring hold in the lense and cover the gap? Thanks in advance. John

John,

If you put them in a 13.5" aluminum body you can make it work.

The snap rings will NOT hold the lenses in place, but there is enough of a lip to canter the lenses and retain them with some small daubs of silicone.

Later . . .

Jim

Jim, thank you for your reply. I figured a little bit of silicone before installing the rings would help. Was there a reason you specified aluminum over a steel body? Is there more of an inner lip or is it easier to move that lip in a bit for a better contact area? Thanks again. John

I believe most steel bodies are 15”. Aluminum bodies are made now to hold 13.5 inch lenses.

15.0" bodies come in both steel and aluminium.

13.5' bodies also come in both steel and aluminum.

The 13.5" aluminum bodies have a wider flat area for the lenses to sit on. Therefore, you can get the smaller 13.25" lenses to fit.

Later . . .

Thank you Jim. From your statement I thought that might be the case.
