Here is the Ellisco ID Tag with 3 digit number circled. The numbers are "180". Anyone know what the numbers represent? I would like to know a date range on the 10-gallon Sinclair oil can.

Joe more than likely you are on to something wondering about the 180 I would go out on a limb and say its a batch number which company records told them what day it was produced. Sure you know the sinclair number is also a tracking number to track where the can was dropped to help insure they got it back when empty. No two cans will have the same number. If the 180 is in fact a batch number there is more cans with the same number.

The tag was put on to indicate that the can met the States regulations as to the can actually holding 10 gallons. What the 180 is for I have no idea.
