I have a fondness for mini oil can banks. Being that I have a large collection I am always looking to add to my collection.
It has been a long time since I have seen one that I don't already have. The offerings have seemed to have dried up.
Even the common ones seem to be few and far in-between.
Wonder what's going on?

Not to hi Jack the thread but I am curious as to the history of the oil can banks. Are these actual cans that the oil company made into Coin banks or a repop can that is made into a bank?

Probably produced by a premium company for major brands as a give-a-way item, they are not quart cans more to the pint size. I have some in my collection but have not followed them much so I really don't know on where they went.

Were the one that are full size quarts, composite, with the slot in the top the same thing? Or are they fantasy items from the 70's?
