Also Dino Sinclair. A lot of people like Dino. The Bennett would be good for Sinclair. They used Bennett pumps most of the time.

I always like the look of Skelly. Like my dad and his DX stuff, recognizable but not common.

As sure as you do the pump in Sinclair, the first person to look at it will say "I'd buy that pump if it was done in Shell." To do one before you sell it is limiting your market, try to find someone who wants a restored pump then do it the way he wants.

Red or red & white will give you the most options, Texaco, standard, mobilgas, frontier etc etc

I see Jack's point about limiting your audience by picking one particular brand but Sinclair did use Bennett widely and I think the 766 and 966 pumps look great in Green. I've done 4 or 5 of them like that and have had no trouble finding them a home. Kind of new at this but I'll try and attach a pic of my last one.

Restored many pumps and red & white (and Mobil) has never sold well for me, maybe its just bad luck, but I dont do red and white now unless its a custom order. The suggestion above about doing Sinclair Dino, Polly, or Fire Chief are all excellent suggestions that sell well. Shell too. Yes, it limits the market when you restore a pump to a brand but many people wont buy until they see the final product restored so you really can't win that either.
If you are wondering why those brands listed sell well it is because they are recognized brands that the wife will also like. I've heard "that Dinosaur is so cute!" many times, pretty much closing the sale. Unusual colors dont seem to hurt sales as long as its pleasing to the eye. The pumps you are talking about restoring are common pumps, so restoring to sell to the masses is the way to go, rather than gas pump collector guy. But the profit margin on restored pumps isnt great so hope you are not expecting a big score or anything.
