Do either have "Rhodes" or "Harper Shields" in embossed lettering?

IMHO,

Tyrol is just a water transfer decal on a bottle. Easy to do with any oil bottle and a $10 decal.

Gilmore is fantasy.

Pic one of clear bottom bottle much more likely to be reproduction glass than pic 2 with rough bottom. Agree with Jim both logos are fake but the pic 2 is probably old bottle glass.

I always thought a bottle with flaws was more likley a fake !!!! Remember all the CCSA Pure oil bottles ??? They had air bubbles and just flawed crocked necks !!!! just my opinion and we all know about opinions !!! I still have a couple plus a real one !!!! Jap junk !!!

Except for the very oldest bottles, real bottles will have 'state' approval logos cast into them.

The states certified that the bottle held a full quart and then the bottle manufacturer could cast in a logo letting the consumer know this.

An early way for the customer to be sure they were getting what they paid for.

Of course, scam artists could replicate these mark's, but it increases the costs of the mold.

I have bottles in my collection with 4 ot 5 state approval marks.

Later . . .
