Use some barkeepers friend on it--you will be glad you did! Use with caution. Barkeepers Friend is an abrasive product and can remove the gloss on any sign. Yours looks shiny as is..... it would be a shame to loss that gloss.

I will not use bar keepers on anything but stainless. It kills the gloss.

I’ve used Barkeepers friend on a ton of porcelain signs over the years. I’ve yet to see it take any gloss away. It’s always worked wonders for me and I’ve used it with some force along with a blue scotch brite pad.
I think the key is to keep it really wet and moving. I never let it sit for more than a couple minutes before totally rinsing.

Softscrub has always been my "go to" porcelain cleaner......that, some additional water and some 0000 steel wool.

My experience with Barkeepers has been friendly too. And I would keep digging where you found that nugget or at least use a metal detector.

That is a good sign. IMO probably $1500 -2500 depending on color/gloss, condition. It is hard from a picture, but looks nice.

I agree with Coltex on value. If it's as nice as it seems in the photo, it would easily be near the higher limit of his estimate. At least here in the Northeast.

Hey Tom, I respect your input and I'm sure he appreciates your input, but would you give him $3000 for the sign after looking at that picture? I'm just curious. Thank you.

I agree with Coltex’s estimate 100%. I’m my opinion $3000 for that sign would be extremely high. I think $2500 is even high. Sure the sign has good gloss, but If you zoom in and look at it closely, the front and back have numerous pea-size chips throughout the entire field (probably from a shotgun). Just my 2 cents.
