Found a stand for my wife's old Ford gumball machine & decided to set it up next to the living room pump & air meter. My house is in disarray because I'm gutting the basement of our tiny tri level.

I found her gumball machine, but also found my box of maps. For about 30 yrs of antiquing, I forgot that I was picking up maps. Most are the typical 50's - 70's cool old maps, but I found one that got my attention.

There is no date on the map, but the graphics make me think it's 30's or earlier. The fact that it has a legend marking service station locations got my attention. Any thoughts? Thanks, Rick

That's a nice one. Anyone ever frame these or is it just best to keep them folded as-is? Guess you also have to keep these away from the UV rays too.

Well it depends on the map...here is a WW2 map done by Texaco for its Canadian customers.

Sorry guy's but I had to tend to the Honey-do-list!

Mark: It appears that I don't have the knack of displaying maps since it looks like a cardboard box is as far as I got. Picture frame sounds great since it will live on the garage wall. I may look into a wall mounted rack now that I know what I have.

Randy: Fun police was calling during my post & I didn't have time to figure out how to upright my pics! Ugh! 20's sounds real cool. I assume you have a few laying around!!

Fred: That map is real cool. What does the legend designate? I see ships all over the map. Would this be post war policing locations?

Sorry the picture can't show you the details. The boats are mainly the convoy runs from NA to Europe. This map was done early in the war. The only date visible to me is the sinking of the Athena on Sept 3 1939.
The legend has air and naval bases as well as fortifications marked out. I bought it framed like this and haven't taken it apart to see the other side where I imagine there is more info.
The map show battles in Finland and the partition of Poland after the Nazis invaded. So I think it is from sometime in early1940.
The top right corner has an addition over the map with the Scandinavian countries enlarged. I should remove it but haven't yet.
But a highly unusual map to say the least.

I think Randy's right , the cars and graphics and coloring look very similar to my 1929 Vico map.
