I recently finished a Erie 771 I had picked up in Montana. It was originally a Chevron Supreme pump. Attached to the VR was a weights and measures tag from 1957 so I decided to do the color scheme from that era. I was able to use the original porcelain face plates as they were in real nice shape. I had to make new trim pieces for the ad glass as there was only one stainless piece left. I ended up using aluminum flat bar it is a bit wider than the original trim but still does the job of framing the ad glass. One thing that was interesting was the globe fitter on these pumps being recessed into the top. It makes the globe pretty theft proof once you’ve got the doors closed but it’s a pain to try and turn the set screws as there’s not much room between the frame and the top cap.
